The title may inspire some to say “hurray!”
Postpone spring cleaning? Sounds like a fine idea to me. Normally, I’d try to roll up my sleeves and get busy, but I’m going to put it off this year. I’m not really sure spring has sprung just yet anyway, considering the intense weather we’ve been having.
The weather is playing a big role in my decision to postpone spring cleaning, not only because I’m just not ready for it yet, but also because there are now other more pressing matters. Our yard and washed out driveway are going to need attention before I can begin washing walls and tackling other spring cleaning tasks, after recent flooding.
For those of you who are rolling up your sleeves and getting down to the business of spring cleaning, I’ll be offering some tips. Don’t worry, I’ll be following my own advice at some point, just at a later date. I’m postponing spring cleaning, not canceling it, although the thought has crossed my mind. It will probably cross my mind again, as I work in the mud, but all that mud will probably mean even more spring cleaning… hmmm, sounds like a vicious circle.
Can you say, “Calgon, take me away!”?
A good place to begin is checking your cleaning supplies to make sure you have enough of everything you need.
Here are some other things that have come to mind lately that you may find useful:
- Change shower curtain liners and perhaps, shower curtain rings
- Check the batteries in smoke detectors (if you didn’t already do so during the time change)
- Wash pet beds or cushions or replace them
- Clean chair cushions and slipcovers
- Clean or replace welcome mats
*Don’t forget the interior of vehicles too.
Speaking of vehicles, how’s the garage looking? Does it need some spring cleaning too?
