Now that spring is here, there are plenty of opportunities to have some great family fun. Here are some ideas that I bet even you haven’t thought of, yet!
Did you know that many golf courses have a practice area where you can play at golf for free? You’ll have to bring your own clubs, or kids play clubs, as the case may be. But, it certainly can be a lot of fun and save you any fees you might spend on miniature golf. Plus, kids love the fact that you are playing on a real golf course. They get a thrill from it.
As the days seem to be getting longer, so do the hours at your local library. Now is the season when you will start to see family nights and other fun weekend and weeknight activities for families. A typical program might include crafts, story time or a family movie. And don’t forget to take advantage of everything else the library has to offer, such as DVDs and books for rainy days.
Baseball games are just getting started, Why not go out and watch the games that are played through the local high school, church club or sports club? The watching is free, of course, and the teams will love the extra support. The best part of all? These games usually don’t have any expensive and tempting food concession stands to worry about.
Try getting out in your neighborhood for bike rides and walks. These are both great ways of getting some exercise. Plus, after being in the house all winter long, getting outside is a nice cure for cabin fever.
Get those barbecue pits and grills ready. Cook your dinner outdoors. Even if it is still a little chilly to eat outside, the novelty of cooking on the grill will lend a little fun to home made dinner and give your family the sense of summer being just around the corner.
