Spring Forward to Action 30-Day Challenge – Day 22: Cardio

Welcome to Day 22 of the Spring Forward to Action 30-Day Challenge. Today is a cardio focus day, so be sure to get involved in some cardio friendly fitness today. As we’re in the home stretch of the 30-Day Challenge, I’m going to encourage you to discover the fitness styles and types that you enjoy.

If you like getting out in the sunshine and walking briskly, then that’s what you should do. If you enjoy an elliptical machine or stationary bike, then do that. The idea here is for you to not only do a cardio workout, getting your heart rate up and sustaining it, but also for you to enjoy it so that you will practice your cardio workout regularly.

Be sure to hydrate both before, during and after your workout. Set aside about 30 to 35 minutes. Keep plenty of water on hand as you get started whether you are going to work it out indoors or out. If you like, choose one of the following and let’s get started!

  • Treadmill Incline Workout – 30 Minutes
  • Treadmill Speed Increase Workout – 30 minutes
  • Stationary Bicycle – multi hill workout – 30 minutes
  • Outdoor walking 1 to 2 miles – 30 minutes
  • Outdoor jogging 1 to 2 miles – 30 minutes
  • Outdoor cycling – 30 minutes

Continue to hydrate throughout the day. On average, you should drink about half an ounce of water for each pound of your body weight. The water can help you flush toxins from your body, reduce headaches, improve your kidney function and make you feel better overall.

What will you be doing for cardio today? I plan to take my dog out for a nice long walk as we work on his heeling and listening skills.

For your journal entry today, finish this thought: I want to be more …
