Springtime Dieting Rush

Is it the panic that sets in that prompts more people to diet in the spring because we know that we will be wearing less? As soon as March rolls around the bathing suits are coming out on the racks in the store. Shorts start to appear, sandals, suntan lotion. I walk through the store and I feel an instant panic.

Do not fear. There is time, but you have to get moving. You can lose about 20 or so pounds before June if you start now. Find a good dieting plan that you are comfortable with. You should also find some type of exercise that you will adhere to faithfully. If you are consistent with these two things you will be ready for summer wear right on time to look good in your shorts.

The motivation of spring drives more people to lose weight. You can now get outside without all of the slowdowns of inclement weather forces to discourage your exercise plans. Hop on your bike, take a jog or a walk, do some serious spring cleaning. Do anything that will keep you busy, moving, and away from food. Start piling your plate with more fruits and vegetables. They seem to taste better anyway when the weather starts warming up. More refreshing.

About once a week or every two weeks try on those shorts and take a look in the mirror to get an idea of what you look like in them. Make sure that you are checking a rear view shot of yourself also. When you are happy with how you look in them, you have lost enough weight and can maintain your new figure with your exercise plan, but continue to be observant and stay on top of your eating habits. It is so easy to slide those pounds right back on if you are not careful.
