If you find that your walls are a bit boring and you don’t know what to hang to make them pop, consider wall paper. I am not talking about picking wallpaper an entire wall or room. That could easily leave your room dated. Instead, I am talking about using wallpaper as art.
To decorate your walls with wallpaper, go to the local home decorating or home crafts store and purchase a few large frames. The frames should include glass and backing. Next, got to a paint supply store that sells wallpaper, and go through their sale bins. You will be sure to find attractive sample rolls of wallpaper for $10.00 or less.
Take your wallpaper and frame home and cut the wallpaper to fit the frame. Affix the wallpaper to the backing of the frame and put the frame back together. You will have an instant piece of framed art for your wall. (Similarly, you can do the same thing with fabric and leave off the glass.)
Once you get the hang of turning wallpaper into a work of art, you can take the concept and run with it. You can create an assortment of framed papers in a general theme to cover an entire wall. You also can make a grid of wallpaper all with the same pattern to create an accent wall in your home.
Play with and assortment different patterns and different size and styles of frames to create a wonderful accent for your boring walls and to give your room a designer look. You can take the step further by using the wallpaper to decorate lampshades and simple accessories to go with your new wall treatment.
