Star Jones Reynolds Returns To TV

She took a hike when she learned that she was getting the boot, and now Star Jones Reynolds says she’s ready to make her big comeback.

You’ll remember last June Reynolds made her now infamous exit from daytime’s chat fest, “The View” in true diva-like fashion. (To recap: Last spring, the 44-year-old co-host was told her contract was not going to be renewed, but she beat producers to the punch by announcing she was quitting. The move angered show creator Barbara Walters, and Reynolds was banned from the program.)

Now Reynolds is returning to TV as host of her own Court TV talk show. A move she calls “coming full circle.”

“For me to come and bring my unique perspective as a talk-show host and a lawyer, and make that user-friendly for the viewer, I could not ask for a better place,” Reynolds told news reporters.

According to Court TV producers, the new show will cover “criminal justice issues that intersect with the pop culture world.” The show has not been named, but producers say it will likely begin airing in the fall.

Reynolds returns to her roots by signing with Court TV. For those of you who don’t remember, the former prosecutor began her TV career as a legal commentator with the network in 1991 before joining ABC’s “The View” in 1997. She’s been off the air for just under a year, and tells reporters that she is excited to get back in front of the camera.

“Now I get to return daily, and that’s the thing that I’ve missed. And I think what I’ve missed more than anything is talking about subjects that people care about,” Reynolds said.

As Reynolds tells she has the law background and over the years has experienced the glitz and glamour of show business, therefore she’s perfect for the job.

“Right now we’re in this really unique place in our culture where law and justice, crime and punishment, politics and government, entertainment and pop culture have all converged. That’s all we talk about now, if you think about [it].”

By the way, don’t expect to see Reynolds promoting her new gig on her old stomping grounds. She told reporters that she doesn’t watch “The View” anymore.

“It’s not my show anymore,” she said. “I wish them the best and I hope they wish me the best.”
