Speeding Nuptials
Spice Girl Melanie Brown is back in the headlines again. No, she’s not lunching with any more of Eddie Murphy’s former love interests; rather she’s raising eyebrows for getting hitched to her own love interest. According to Brown’s rep, the singer secretly married her boyfriend, Stephen Belafonte, in Las Vegas two months ago.
According to friends of the couple, the pair has known each other for years, but things turned romantic when Brown became pregnant with Murphy’s baby. According to Brown, Belafonte (no relation to singer Harry Belafonte) was a “tremendous support” to her during her pregnancy.
The 32-year-old singer who has been in the news due to her bitter paternity battle with her ex-boyfriend, Eddie Murphy over their daughter Angel Iris, says she couldn’t be happier being married. She also said the media attention doesn’t bother Belafonte, which is a good thing since Brown is just a few months away from hitting the road with her fellow Spice Girls for a reunion tour.
Speedy Recoveries
I don’t know how she does it… or why she is doing it (after all, the next ratings period doesn’t start until November). Regardless, ABC News has announced that Robin Roberts will be returning to the anchor desk at “Good Morning America” on Monday—only 10 days after undergoing surgery for breast cancer.
According to network bigwigs, the 46-year-old former college basketball star is still awaiting her test results, but is “feeling great and looking forward to getting back to work.”
You’ll recall Roberts told viewers last week that she had found a lump in her breast during a self-exam and was later diagnosed with breast cancer. She had surgery last Friday and has been resting at home since.
Gone But Not Forgotten
Fans of HBO’s “Sopranos” take heart, the show may be off the air, but you can comfort yourself by taking home a part of one of Tony’s favorite hangouts. The rocks that made up the facade of the fictional Satriale’s Pork Store are up for sale.
According to the building’s owner, the structure is being demolished next month so he decided to sell the white stones online. More than 2,000 bricks will be on sale for $25 to $50 apiece, and will include a serial number and certificate of authentication.
The building’s owner says a condominium complex named The Soprano will be built on the site.
