Stars Branching Out (And it Ain’t Pretty)

Not again…

Victoria Beckham went from being a model to a singer to the subject of a reality TV series to earning a bit part on a popular network series and now the 34-year-old Spice Girl is headed to the big screen.

UGH!

Hold on a minute and you might understand why David Beckham’s wife is set to make her movie debut in “Hardy Men.” According to reports, she was personally hired by the film’s star Tom Cruise.

Which just goes to show you that it’s not what you know, but who you know in Hollywood that guarantees work.

According to British tabloids, Cruise surprised the singer with an invitation to design the costumes for the upcoming flick, then he asked her to make a cameo in the film, which is a spoof of the children’s classic book series “The Hardy Boys.”

Well, that makes a bit more sense. After all, Beckham did play herself on an episode of ABC’s smash hit “Ugly Betty” last year. The spicy mom of three served as a bridesmaid to Vanessa Williams’ fashion boss character, Wilhelmina Slater.

Victoria’s new movie gig will also likely put to rest rumors that she and her family are moving back to London. According to tabloid reports, the Beckham’s reportedly hired a top L.A.-based company to design the layout for their new British mansion.

I don’t see how any one could possible buy that rumor. I mean c’mon the couple just moved their entire clan (sons Brooklyn, 9, Romeo, 5, and Cruz, 3) across the pond in 2007 when David joined the L.A. Galaxy soccer team. They are now Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes BFFs and have everything they could dream of. Why the heck would they give it all up to move back to England?

Another celebrity branching out is actor Alec Baldwin.

The obnoxiously rude father of one claims he wants to become a politician when his acting career is over.

Baldwin made the comment during a taped “60 Minutes” interview, which is set to air tomorrow.

“There’s other things I want to do (besides acting),” Baldwin says. “There’s no age limit on running for office, to a degree. (It is) something I might do one day.”

The 50-year-old confirmed that he is a staunch supporter of the Democrat Party but refused to elaborate on his political plans. However, some of you might recall that two years ago Baldwin told a newspaper reporter he would consider running for governor in his home state of New York one day.

DOUBLE UGH!
