Stars Who Won’t Be Doing the Tango on TV

Now that ABC’s smash hit “Dancing with the Stars” is over for the season (and the right person walked away with the hideous disco-ball trophy) tongues are wagging regarding who will be included on the next installment of the show, which premieres in September.

I have seen a few names being tossed around, but nothing has been signed (or so claims ABC execs). However, there is one celeb you absolutely won’t be seeing on the dance floor come the fall. Despite being asked by show producers several times, football star Terrell Owens says he won’t be waltzing into your living room next season. In fact, the award-winning athlete claims he has never seen the show.

“They asked me to do that last year and I graciously declined,” Owens said. “I don’t need to get on national TV to show people I can dance. I do that 16, 17 weeks out of the year. I’ve been doing it all my career.”

With that attitude I’m sure he wouldn’t have gotten enough votes to hang around very long anyway.

Instead of reality shows, Owens says he is ready to take on more sitcom roles like the one he just completed on “Under One Roof.”

“I think I surprised a lot of people with my performance,” Owens said. “For me, I feel like I can act. That’s what I want to do. If I wasn’t really comfortable with it and didn’t think I could really do it, then I wouldn’t have done it.”

Oh and that’s not all Owens has to say about his future career as an actor. The Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver says he doesn’t plan to limit himself to “just comedy” noooooo he says he wants to be the next Denzel Washington.

And when that doesn’t work out I’m sure you’ll be seeing him on “Dancing with the Stars.”
