Starting Over with Nothing Part 1

As the flood waters have ravaged Georgia, there are many Georgians who have found that they are left to start over with nothing. In some areas house flooded clear to the rooftops. All belongings have been destroyed and they have no flood insurance. Even some people who did have flood insurance are quickly finding that the insurance will pay to refurbish the house but nothing else.

Starting over with nothing can be difficult. You may need to find a new home. You will at least need to find a temporary home. You will definitely need new furniture. But first you need money to get these things accomplished.

Losing a home and having to start over can be heartrending. It seems all you can think about are the things that you lost and the memories attached to it. To help that pain from lost memories to fade, you need to get to work on building new one and gathering belongings to go along with them.

Get ye to a photographer. Have them take photographs of your family and have those photos framed for the walls in your new home. This will remind you that you survived with the most important things you have… each other. In addition, put out a call to all of your family members and friends for any photographs they may have with you and your children in them. Contact old classmates. Old teachers that your kids have had. Look up your kids old classmates, and people on sport teams. Arrange for them to send you photos electronically (in on online image website such as Kodak.com) and then you can store and print as many of these that you like.

Once you have found that your memories are intact, you can begin to work on gathering necessities.
