Whoever said life was easy? When it comes to just living a healthy, balanced life, this factor is not taught in any school, it is learned while we grow older. Maybe some school programs should consider placing this in their life skills courses?
While we are taught from a very young age to think before we speak, think before we answer a question, and think before we make a decision; what about if we just stop thinking? Go against everything we have been taught and enjoy living our life.
For example, who said that we have to have an all or nothing attitude? Remember at dinner time when you needed to clean your entire plate or you wouldn’t get to watch television or get dessert? Today, children who clean their plate are now considered obese. So what is the right way of thinking?
Don’t over think about the small ice cream cup you ate the night before and decide, “That’s it, my diet is ruined!” Just continue with the same healthy eating habits as you did before. One small ice cream should not be the end to your healthy eating habit. There is no reason for the all or nothing attitude when it pertains to your life.
Did you ever think that small ice cream cup was a way of rewarding yourself for following your healthy lifestyle for all the prior months? Why not change your attitude to the positive and say, “I deserve to have a sweet treat every few weeks.” This will help with the negative thinking and help approach life with a new and open mindset.
Blaming yourself or others for an entire situation does not help anyone so don’t. Telling your husband he is to blame for you getting fat or vice a versa will not solve the immediate problem. If you feel ashamed about your weight, seeking help can be done in confidential and no one needs to know. When you finally decide to help yourself, the only people who should know is you and the professional helping you. The more you announce it to people, the harder it becomes as others will often ask you how the weight loss program is going.
The most satisfaction a person who is trying to lose weight can do is keeping it to themselves. First it is much easier then telling people and the time will go by much quicker. Others will begin noticing the change of weight as well as your self-confidence building up. The greatest feeling is to say, “I feel great!”
