Isn’t it amazing how much stuff you and your family can accumulate, even in a short amount of time? I mean, it’s only been a year since the last all-out Spring Cleaning, yet there’s a ton of stuff around here. It looks like more than one year’s accumulation. Am I the only one that has this problem?
Once again I’m sorting through stuff and more stuff. The fun part is finding things you haven’t seen in a long time or coming across a cute picture of your teenager when she was a sweet little baby. Back when she didn’t get “that look” and had bright eyes and the sweetest smiles. Okay, enough skipping down Memory Lane.
If you’re like me, you’ll probably also find things that you have recently purchased again because you couldn’t find the original. That’s where the extension cord went! You may also find things that are not as pleasant, such as a spider. Yuck.
I don’t understand how things get so cluttered when it seems like I never stop cleaning. I guess I need to sort things more often. I do it in some areas, but the utility room and other spaces are kind of “out of sight, out of mind,” until spring arrives, and now it’s here.
The kids are having fun, collecting junk and laughing at some of our old music, clothes, and pictures. My younger ones are having fun grabbing “cool” clothes that no longer fit their older sisters.
I’ve got my work cut out for me. I still have a lot of stuff to go through. The people at Goodwill will be glad to see me pulling up, but the garbage man will probably be mumbling under his breath.
At the end of the day, I’ll feel better knowing that things are in better order… at least until spring rolls around again.
