It may only just be April, and around here at least our weather finally started feeling spring-like again after some unseasonably warm temperatures, but it’s time to start thinking about summer. At least, it’s time to focus on summer if you’re thinking about planning a Walt Disney World trip for your upcoming vacation.
The special offers on Disneyland’s website still pertain to their spring deals, but Disney World has started looking ahead to the warmer months. Today I’ll focus exclusively on the Disney World deals, and I’ll return to Disneyland in the future when their special offers site is updated.
If you’re thinking of purchasing a Magic Your Way package (that includes Disney World accommodation and ticket packages), then you should definitely check out the Disney World Special Offers website’s top deal. A week’s vacation (that’s six nights and seven days) for a room and tickets can cost just $69 per person per night if you stay in Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. The deal also covers the Caribbean Beach Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Saratoga Springs Resort; prices rise with each hotel and are, in order, $78, $95, and $100.
For these rates to apply you must book your trip by June 14. The prices are set for most days between June 15 and August 14. When making your reservations make sure you stay alert for the few days on which this deal does not apply.
If you want to purchase your own ticket package but would like savings on a Disney resort stay, you also have a hotels-only option. For the same time frame (book by June 14, applies most dates between June 15 and August 14), you can save up to 25% on rooms in a Disney hotel. The offered savings increase as the prices of the resort go up (basically, Disney’s not cutting as much of a deal for its cheaper hotels). The offer’s set for just four Disney resorts at four different price tiers. You get 15% savings at the Disney All-Star Music Resort, 20% at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-Riverside, and 25% at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Old Key West Resort.
Now, enough with the word “resort” – what about deals on food? Disney World usually has some offer relating to a free dining plan, and its summer 2012 slate does not disappoint. As always, if you want a free dining plan you can’t get it on discounted tickets, so don’t try to combine this with the other Magic Your Way discount package.
If you purchased a 5-night/6-day non-discounted Magic Your Way package for Walt Disney World later this summer, you can get a free Disney Dining plan. You get a free regular Disney Dining plan (that includes meals and snacks at over 100 Disney restaurants) if you book at one of the fancier Disney hotels, and if you book at a Disney Value resort then you get a free Disney Quick Service Dining plan, which applies only to over 50 Disney restaurants. You have to book your vacation with this offer by May 18, but it only applies for arrivals between August 25 and September 29.
These are the main deals currently on offer for Disney World this summer. But there are additional deals available applying to military families and golfing and fishing vacations. Check out the Disney World Special Offers site for more information and details on all of the deals.
