Today we’re continuing our “Summer Travel” series by taking a look at the newest family friendly shows, concerts and reviews being offered at various theme parks across the nation. If you are embarking on a family vacation this summer and need to find an event that captures the interest of members young and, well… not so young, you may want to check out the following shows:
“Operation Spygirl”—The new stunt show is being featured at Six Flags Great America located in Gurnee, Illinois. “Operation Spygirl” was developed by the creator of the television show “24” and features a heroine who must battle the clock to save the world and defeat villain Max Condor.
“Lego Racers”—This new 3D family movie is being featured at Geauga Lake in Aurora, Ohio. This summer the park is also offering guests access to a live magic and comedy show.
The Blue Man Group—-The world-famous characters will make their debut at Universal Orlando in a new theater this summer. The bald, blue dudes will perform a new show exclusively created for the expansion.
“Cirque Dreams Coobrila”— The brand new outdoor evening show is making its debut at Six Flags over Texas in Arlington this summer. It will feature an international cast, amazing costumes and original music. According to park managers, the show is part of a campaign that touts the park’s new extended hours. It will remain open until 11 p.m. from June 16 to August 19.
If your family enjoys the classic battle of good versus evil with a western flair consider vacationing at these Western-themed parks:
Ghost Town in the Sky located in Jacksonville Beach, North Carolina is reopening this summer after being closed since 2002. The park has revamped and renamed the Red Devil coaster as the Cliff Hanger. It now tops speeds of 56 m.p.h.
In Kansas, Wild West World, is being hailed as the state’s first theme park. The 35-acre park is located outside of Wichita and features six thrill rides, nine family rides and nine kids’ rides. The park is split into three sections called “Texas,” “Oklahoma” and “Kansas.”
