With the Super Bowl just around the corner, now is the time to start planning some super sporty page designs. Whether you are planning to scrapbook a viewing party or you’ve snagged tickets to the big game and you’re dedicating an entire album to your precious professional pigskin memories, it pays to add some key elements to your layouts.
When crafting football-themed scrapbook pages consider adding the following: Your favorite team’s colors and mascots; team rosters; special stats; times and dates of each game; players’ bios, programs; and tickets or other mementos if you are going to see the game in person.
In addition, you might consider color-coordinating the cover and pages with the team’s colors or finding an album that is shaped like a football jersey. If you are especially crafty, you could design an accordion scrapbook to mimic a football field. Next, add themed embellishments, including balls, whistles, helmets, goal posts or pennants.
Finally, don’t underestimate the power of a good football quote. Here are some popular phrases that are sure to spice up your Super Bowl scrapbook:
“Winning isn’t everything, but it beats anything that comes in second.” Paul Bryant
“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it’s much more serious than that.”–Bill Shankly
“We didn’t lose the game; we just ran out of time.”–Vince Lombardi
“Football is a team game. So is life.”–Joe Namath
“In life, as in a football game, the principle to follow is: Hit the line hard.”–Theodore Roosevelt
“Football isn’t a contact sport, it’s a collision sport. Dancing is a contact sport.”–Duffy Daugherty
“Good teams become great ones when the members trust each other enough to surrender the ‘me’ for the ‘we.'”–Phil Jackson
“Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it’s so incredible, it’s unbelievable.”–Tom Landry
