Who says international travel has to be a budget buster? Summer is typically the most popular time to travel for families in the United States. But instead of limiting your family’s jaunts to local campgrounds or amusement parks why not go big this summer and travel abroad. I know what you’re thinking: If you go big this summer the subsequent months will mean logging serious overtime at the office. Not so, if you take advantage of some of the spectacular bargains being offered by several travel groups.
Take a look at these all-inclusive deals currently being offered to destinations in the scenic Northern European region:
COPENHAGEN
The chance to tour Denmark’s stylish capital of Copenhagen can be yours for less than $1,500 thanks to a deal being offered by Virgin Vacations. The summer package is valid for travel between July 1 and July 28 and costs $1,439 for a three-night stay at a three-star hotel PLUS round-trip airfare from New York. You’ll stay at the Norlandia Star Hotel, a modern spot right at the heart of the city center and be provided daily continental breakfast. June and August departures cost a bit extra ($1,479) but if you can hold off to travel in September you can save even more. The cost for September departures is just $1,129.
OSLO
Norway’s capital of Oslo has some amazing attractions and you can access to them all by taking advantage of a super Scandinavian deal offered by Virgin Vacations. For just $1,539 you will receive three nights accommodations at a mid-range property, daily continental breakfast and a round-trip flight from New York. The price is good for departures through September 7th. If you want to save even more on the same trip then plan to leave in October. Fall departures drop to just $1.229.
FINLAND AND SWEDEN
This unique Scandinavia summer package (also offered by Virgin Vacations) allows you to follow the ancient route of the King’s Road through Finland and Sweden, used by kings and their messengers since the 13th century. The special package deal is priced at $2,579 and is valid for June–September departures. The price includes airfare to Helsinki and back from Stockholm (which in itself would typically cost at least $1,200 in summer months); seven night’s lodging with breakfast; and a variety of tours, including an overnight cruise from Turku, Finland’s oldest town, to Stockholm.
