Despite the multiple headlines that alluded he was far from the ideal husband, reports confirm that New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and his wife are adding to their family.
Surprise!
I guess this means the couple is staying together after all.
The two-time American League MVP released a statement yesterday that revealed that his 34-year-old wife Cynthia is expecting a baby next spring.
“Cynthia and I are overjoyed to announce this addition to our family,” Rodriguez said. “We realize what a special gift children are, and feel very blessed to welcome our second child.”
A-Rod and his wife are already parents to daughter, Natasha, 2.
The star athlete says they don’t know the sex of the new baby; however they plan to find out as soon as possible. Rodriguez says Natasha is more anxious about finding out the new baby’s gender than he and his wife are.
I suppose the baby announcement will help put to rest rumors that A-Rod’s alleged extra-martial affair did in the couple’s five-year marriage.
In other baby news it appears John Stamos is following in the footsteps of Paula Abdul.
The actor recently announced that he wants to be a father… soon.
“If I don’t have kids soon, I am going to adopt,” the 44-year-old actor tells OK! magazine in its latest issue. “Even if I do have kids, I think I will (adopt). I always thought to myself that I would be a better father later on in life.”
Stamos didn’t reveal whether he would go the adoption route as a single man. (His marriage to actress Rebecca Romijn ended in 2005 after five years.)
The “ER” star says there was a point following his divorce when he despised dating. Now, he says he is finding a way to embrace it and hopes he will soon find someone to share parenthood with.
I can’t imagine Stamos will have difficulty finding some woman to raise a child with.
