This is the time of year when you see a lot of pumpkins. Both of the grocery stores my husband and I shop at have large displays of pumpkins, gourds, and those cute little mini-pumpkins. Many people, children and adults alike, find it fun to carve a Halloween inspired design into a pumpkin. This year, if you carve your pumpkin into an image related to Swagbucks, you could win 1,000 swagbucks!
There are many things that you can do with a pumpkin. As we get closer to Halloween, you will see that many people have decided to carve a design into a pumpkin, and use it as part of their Halloween decorations. You can make pumpkin into pumpkin pies. The pumpkin seeds can be dried out, toasted, salted, and eaten. The mini-pumpkins, and the smaller, oddly shaped and colored gourds, can make nice centerpieces for holiday meals with family this Fall.
Swagbucks is a search engine that rewards the people who use it with points called “swagbucks”. It functions very much like google does: type whatever you are searching for into the box, hit enter, and scan through the page of relevant links that pops up. The big difference is that google doesn’t offer it’s users any points for using google. In order to start accruing the Swagbucks, you need to sign up with the Swagbucks website. It is free, and it doesn’t take long to do. After that, you will randomly earn some Swagbucks when you use their website to search for something, when you take a daily poll, or when you find a special Swagbucks code in their blog. Exchange your swagbucks for whatever prize catches your interest. Prizes change often, and there is a great variety of things to choose from. I use Swagbucks, and so far I have received an Amazon gift card, and a really cool grid notebook as prizes.
It is easy to enter the Swagbucks Pumpkin Carving Contest. First, get a pumpkin. Carve that pumpkin into a “Swagbucks inspired carving”. Carve the Swagbucks logo, an image of the Swagbucks Guy, or Swagbucks Gal. You are allowed to include “ghosts, ghouls, and Frankensteins”, as long as they relate in some way to Swagbucks. Next, take a photo of your creation, and send that photo by email to Pumpkins (at) Swagbucks.com. Include your Swagbucks username in the email you send. All of the photos will end up on their Flickr page, where you can see them, and comment on them. 5 finalists will be selected, and put into the Swagbucks blog on October 27, 2010. The winner will receive 1,000 swagbucks, and will be announced on November 1, 2010. If you want to earn an extra 500 swagbucks, use your existing swagbucks to “purchase” the pumpkin carving stencil set that is located in the Swagbucks store.
