Have you heard about Sweetie Tags, yet? They are really awesome graphics images that you can use as a personal signature for your forum posts here at Families.com. What is more, they are personally custom designed with your own photos and sayings.
I was lucky enough to interview the maker of Sweetie Tags, mama2riley, also known as Melissa, and a Sr. Moderator here in the forums.
Mary Ann: What is a Sweetie Tag?
Melissa: A Sweetie Tag is a graphic image that I design for use as a personal signature. Most tag makers have their own watermark for their tags. So that is how I decided to label mine since I call my kids my sweeties. Most of the tags I make for people on this particular forum have a scrapbook style and photos of their kids and/or spouses because it is family oriented. But I do make Sweetie Tags in all different styles and also make tags that display artists’ work rather than photos.
Mary Ann: How did you get started making Sweetie Tags?
Melissa: Actually I started making tags shortly after I joined Families in Oct 2006 when I was expecting my daughter. This was the first forum I ever joined and I loved seeing all the graphic siggys here and wanted to make them myself. Our community manager, Jo (Mollymae), helped me get started on the right path and I have been making tags ever since. It has been an enjoyable hobby for me!
Mary Ann: What programs and tools do you use?
Melissa: I use Paint Shop Pro version X and Jasc Animation Shop.
Mary Ann: Do you have a background in graphics arts?
Melissa: No but I wish I did! My degree is in Education actually, but I have always enjoyed a variety of arts as a hobby all my life. It may be something I pursue in the future though. I am beginning to get into more complicated web design now too and would love to take some classes on that.
