Newsmen Making News

ABC News’ Charlie Gibson took a break from his anchoring duties recently to urge students at his father’s alma mater to be honest and fair. Gibson made the remarks during commencement ceremonies at the school. “It sounds old-fashioned, but I will tell you there are ethical imperatives in this life,” Gibson told members of the graduating class. “Compassion. Injured Journalist Plans Return To TV

ABC News has just announced that anchor Bob Woodruff will be returning to TV in his first broadcast since being severely injured in January by a roadside bomb while covering the war in Iraq. In it the former “World News” … Continue reading

Newscast’s New Name

Gibson joked that his former ABC home would be renamed as well: “They’re … Continue reading

What about the much-parodied interview with Katherine Hepburn where Walters asks the Hollywood legend what kind of tree she would be? If you missed any or all of the hundreds of interviews Walters has conducted for ABC News specials over the past three decades, don’t despair. The 74-year-old journalist just penned a deal with Sirius Satellite Radio, … Continue reading
