Rosie To Elisabeth: “You’re no friend of mine!”

Just in case you care… it doesn’t look like Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be speaking to each other anytime soon. Make that—EVER… if you believe a 13-minute video that O’Donnell created to address rumors that have been flying since the two engaged in an on-air blow out last week. On the video, which is featured on Rosie’s blog, she discusses the much talked about incident and vehemently denies she trashed her own dressing room following the verbal brawl, saying: “I’ve never trashed anything, frankly.” However, the comedian and some-time actress does acknowledge that one of her “friends” at … Continue reading

Star Updates: Rosie and Katie

Many people (mainly those in the media) are wondering how Rosie O’Donnell is faring in the days since she told executives at “The View” she didn’t plan to return to the show on Tuesday—or ever! (Okay, she didn’t say “ever,” but you have to wonder will all the bad blood that was spilled during her war of words with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck if Rosie will indeed return to the show as a guest to speak on issues such as autism and adoption as she promised a few months ago.) Personally, I don’t know why members of the media are speculating … Continue reading

Rosie vs. Elisabeth—The Aftermath

I saw it. In a strange turn of events I actually caught the on-air brawl between “View” co-hosts Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, which transpired Wednesday. If you missed the dust-up, basically the crux of the argument was rooted in the fact O’Donnell had unresolved feelings regarding Hasselbeck’s failure to defend her when media outlets suggested that she had called U.S. troops “terrorists” during a previous on-air debate. Midway through the heated exchange, O’Donnell called Hasselbeck “cowardly.” “What you did was not defend me. … I asked you if you believed what the Republican pundits were saying – you said … Continue reading

Celebrity Corner: Going, Going, Gone!

GOING She was going to perform for recovering soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, but instead singer and anti-war activist Joan Baez says she was told to take a hike. The 66-year-old folk singer revealed her feelings about the incident in a recent letter to the Washington Post. In it she wrote that she doesn’t know why she was not allowed to perform for the injured soldiers. “I have always been an advocate for nonviolence and I have stood as firmly against the Iraq war as I did the Vietnam War 40 years ago,” she wrote. “I realize now … Continue reading

Monday Morning Baby News

If you aren’t a fan of ABC’s “The View” then you won’t even notice she’ll be gone. No, I’m not talking Rosie O’Donnell–I’m referring to Rosie’ co-host, Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The 29-year-old former “Survivor” contestant just announced that she and her husband, New York Giants quarterback Tim Hasselbeck will be adding to their family. Just a few hours ago on today’s edition of the ABC chatfest Rosie O’Donnell asked: “I was just wondering if there’s anything new, Elisabeth?” “Um, just a couple things,” replied a coy Hasselbeck. “Like, I’m totally three months pregnant.” On cue, confetti blasted out of the studio … Continue reading

Alec’s Apologies—From Bad To Worse

Just when you thought Alec Baldwin’s situation couldn’t get any worse… well, I suppose you can watch how the next chapter in his “parental alienation” saga unfolds tomorrow on national television. Baldwin is set to appear on ABC’s “The View” Friday morning (in a pre-taped piece that was recorded yesterday). Parts of the interview have been released to various media outlets and it shows the actor using the morning talk show as a venue to once again apologize for calling his 11-year-old daughter “a rude, thoughtless little pig.” But that’s old news. We’ve heard the actor’s public apology (or at … Continue reading

Rosie’s Most Unforgettable Moments

Rosie O’Donnell has only been on “The View” for 6.5 months, but you’d think it was a lifetime… if you were Barbara Walters. To say the controversial co-host (who just announced she intends to leave the chatfest in June) has been a lightning rod for controversy is an understatement. Her verbal antics have been fodder for many of the blogs in the Pop Culture category here at families.com. And, while some of you may be sick of reading about Rosie, Rosie, Rosie, and the many, many moments she firmly planted her foot in her mouth I would be remiss if … Continue reading

Ciao Rosie!

The fact that CNN is calling the report “Breaking News” says a lot about the state of our world, doesn’t it? It’s the news some knew would be coming and others hoped would be coming (Donald Trump and Co.)—Rosie O’Donnell will be leaving ABC’s “The View” in June. I just watched the controversial co-host announce her departure live on “The View” and she didn’t seem to be upset about it at all. According to O’Donnell, she wasn’t able to agree on contract details with ABC (she says they wanted her to sign a 3-year deal and she only wanted to … Continue reading

Ah, Rosie is at it Again

Okay, this time, Rosie was egged on a bit. Apparently, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay called for Rosie to be suspended from her duties on “The View” last Friday. It seems that DeLay was a bit upset by the firing of Don Imus over his racist comments about the Rutger’s girl’s basketball team. Well, he was not actually upset about the firing – DeLay says his comments were deplorable, but said Imus has apologized for the comments, should be forgiven, and everyone should just move on. But, DeLay insists that the Left wants Imus to be destroyed, both publicly and … Continue reading

Celebrity Updates: “The View” Feud and “Spicy” Refusals

The world of entertainment is fluid (to say the least), which is why blogs about certain celebrities tend to require updates on a weekly basis (save for Britney Spears in which case it’s an hourly basis). The following are new takes on subjects from my previous blogs featuring the ladies of a certain ABC chatfest and a reality star in the making. “The View’s” Youngest View Much has been written about the growing animosity brewing between “View” co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O’Donnell. Some media reports have the ladies clawing at each other during commercial breaks. While other reports (including … Continue reading
