Finding Nemo: A Pixar Classic

When Finding Nemo was out in theaters I went to see it literally ten times. It was just one of those movies that I thought was so fantastic I wanted to share it with everyone I knew. I think I did manage to share it with everyone I knew at the time, individually. Those few friends who missed the opportunity to see the movie in the theater with me were then invited/forced to come over to my apartment and watch it then. This is a fantastic movie, and most definitely one of my favorites. In the movie a fish Nemo … Continue reading

While many people will go out and enjoy fireworks displays for Fourth of July, many will also purchase and set off their own fireworks. Do you and your family plan to have your own fireworks this year? If so, there are some things to keep in mind. Are they legal? In many areas, fireworks or at least certain types are not legal for individual use. Check the ordinances in your area to avoid getting a citation and having to pay a fine. The Incredible Marriage

Courage is being scared to death–and saddling up anyway. – John Wayne So I was watching The Incredibles with my daughter over the weekend. The flu is running rampant through the house so it was mostly a quiet day as we could make it. The Incredibles is a fun film and I was really impressed with the handling of it because while it was put out by Pixar it was also a Disney production. Disney seems infamous for killing off parents, so I enjoyed seeing both parents together and alive in the film. However, what I wanted to talk about … Continue reading

As one can imagine, writers at Disney were struggling with the script. The decision to make Toy Story 3 came about after Disney’s initial split with Pixar Animation. Though Pixar wasn’t directly involved, Disney had the rights to produce sequels to any Pixar generated films, which was a source of consternation for the animators at Pixar. Now, as John Lasseter takes over as … Continue reading

Disney Acquires Pixar In Historic Merger

Well, it’s finally official. Disney and Pixar have merged in one of the most talked about business transactions in years. For awhile there, it was almost certain that Disney and Pixar would part ways for good. With Michael Eisner at the helm, both Steve Jobs and Eisner butt heads until finally, Pixar announced it would find distribution for its films elsewhere.
