From Bikes to Blades

Recently I blogged about my neighbor Joe and his bike. Like many of us, Joe is outraged by the skyrocketing price of gas and uses his bike as an alternative means of transportation. Every evening, I see him in his work shirt, slacks, and helmet pedaling down home from work. I (along with other neighbors) applaud his efforts (from our air conditioned vehicles), all the while knowing full well we would likely not be following in his two-wheeled tracks. Yes, yes, I know it is all very high school, but it seems that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie will be ending their feud. Surprisingly enough, it will be on live television. Okay, I wrote that part tongue in cheek. But like it or not, they are currently a part of our pop culture. Biking—An Alternative Mode of Transportation

Unless you are as financially sound as Bill Gates or Oprah then you have likely been trying to find ways to save money on gas. In our town, the price for a gallon of unleaded gas is currently $3.15. YIKES! YIKES… is also what I exclaimed yesterday when I saw my neighbor biking home from work in temperatures that exceeded 100 degrees.
