Rosie’s Most Unforgettable Moments

Rosie O’Donnell has only been on “The View” for 6.5 months, but you’d think it was a lifetime… if you were Barbara Walters. To say the controversial co-host (who just announced she intends to leave the chatfest in June) has been a lightning rod for controversy is an understatement. Her verbal antics have been fodder for many of the blogs in the Pop Culture category here at families.com. And, while some of you may be sick of reading about Rosie, Rosie, Rosie, and the many, many moments she firmly planted her foot in her mouth I would be remiss if … Continue reading

Ciao Rosie!

The fact that CNN is calling the report “Breaking News” says a lot about the state of our world, doesn’t it? It’s the news some knew would be coming and others hoped would be coming (Donald Trump and Co.)—Rosie O’Donnell will be leaving ABC’s “The View” in June. I just watched the controversial co-host announce her departure live on “The View” and she didn’t seem to be upset about it at all. According to O’Donnell, she wasn’t able to agree on contract details with ABC (she says they wanted her to sign a 3-year deal and she only wanted to … Continue reading

Money, Money, Money

If we’re talking about making money (tons of money) then we must be talking about those high profile celebrities who seem to rake it in without lifting more than a glittery, high-glossed fingernail. Take for instance singer Jennifer Lopez (or perhaps we should be examining the person who recently hired her). According to PEOPLE magazine, the superstar raked in a cool $1.2 million in 40 minutes Saturday when she performed a 40-minute set of her biggest hits for a Russian billionaire and his wife. Thirty-five-year-old Andrei Melnichenko paid Lopez to sing at a joint birthday party for himself and his … Continue reading

“The Donald” Keeps His Hair

When I wrote about Donald Trump’s wrestling bet a few weeks back I made a bet with myself that the entire “Battle of the Billionaires” showdown was a big April Fools Day joke. Well, it turns out I may have been partially right. For those of you who don’t keep tabs on The Donald’s bets (or his hair… or loss of it), Trump was involved in what World Wrestling Entertainment owner Vince McMahon dubbed a “hairy smackdown.” Essentially, the Trumpster and McMahon had WWE wrestlers duke it out in the ring on their behalf last night (April 1, 2007). Pro … Continue reading

Good News For “Grey’s” Fans… Maybe

It worked for “Cheers,” “Different Strokes,” and “All in the Family,” but could it work for “Grey’s Anatomy?” ABC’s hit medical drama is toying with the idea of creating a spin-off series. According to news reports, a special two-hour episode, featuring cast members Kate Walsh and Taye Diggs, is being shot as a test run for a possible new series. Network executives say the episode will air sometime this season. By spinning off Walsh’s character, neonatal surgeon Addison Shepherd, the show’s creators would be disassembling the romantic triangle involving Dr. Derek Shepherd (played by Patrick Dempsey) and intern Meredith Grey … Continue reading

Fashion Files: Trump’s Hair and A Rocker Turned Designer

IS TRUMP GETTING A TRIM? So much has been said (and written) about Donald Trump’s hairdo (or don’t) that it came as no surprise to me that the real estate mogul is finally putting his hair where his mouth is. I am not a fan of professional wrestling, but I may be swayed to tune into Wrestlemania 23 on April 1st. According to news reports, that’s when viewers will get to see one of the “most anticipated wrestling matches in history.” So, what does a wrestling match have to do with Donald Trump and his hair? Trump and World Wrestling … Continue reading

Rosie vs. The Donald vs. Barbara

Okay, enough already – please! It seems that every morning when I awake and turn on the news, Rosie O’Donnell or Donald Trump is on, slurring the other. This whole feud just does not even make any sense to me! Now granted, I am not a big fan of either Rosie or Donald. And now, they have managed to drag Barbara Walters into the feud. I am even not 100% certain how this started (and please correct me if I am wrong), but I think started it when Rosie posted comments on her web blog before Christmas. It was a … Continue reading

Former “Apprentice” Winner Engaged

OH! MY! WORD! No way! Of all of the millions, nay, billions of people on the Earth how did these two people ever make a love connection? Logistically, I see how it was possible, but theoretically it would seem like a long shot. (I’m getting a bit ahead of myself.) I am referring to former “Apprentice” winner Bill Rancic and E! News anchor Giuliana DePandi. Less than 24 hours ago high above the Windy City, Rancic asked DePandi to marry him. She said yes. “I thought I was dreaming,” DePandi told a PEOPLE magazine reporter just a few hours ago. … Continue reading

Trump To Sidekick: “You’re Fired”

I never thought I would see it happen. But, when you are talking about “The Donald” you just never know. Donald Trump has just made a firing that is making waves across the country. But, the head on the chopping block is not an “Apprentice” contestant; rather it is his “Apprentice” sidekick Carolyn Kepcher. The New York Post is reporting that after 10 years working for Trump “the icy blonde” got the ax because she “became a prima donna.” Kepcher’s “real job” was running Trump’s National Golf Club in Westchester, New York and supervising the Trump National Golf Club in … Continue reading
