New York Fashion Week’s Greenshows

It is Fashion Week in New York and many up and coming designers were concentrating on one thing – sustainable fashion. The Greenshows part of Fashion Week was held during four days this week in Village Green, an environmentally friendly condo in East Village. Among the designers featured their eco couture was Gary Harvey, who made a fun dress of recycled laundry bags and newspaper pages. Other designs of his featured reclaimed fabric from such items as wedding dress, old t-shirts and jeans, trench coats, scarves, and Army jackets. Fashion Week Reveals Picks For Spring 2008

I don’t even know where I stashed my fall coat, yet everywhere I look there are pictures of what we should all be sporting for spring 2008. Fashion Week is officially underway in New York’s Bryant Park. A time when high fashion designers are revealing their new collections while highfalutin celebrities look on. New York Fashion Week—That’s A Wrap!

Another New York Fashion Week is officially in the books. The event wrapped up Friday with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger, previewing their fall collections. Tommy Hilfiger returned to his preppy roots for his fall collection. The models in his show sashayed down the runway in classic tweeds, cable-knit sweaters, plaids and peacoats. New York Fashion Week—Must-Have Items For Fall

Fur and fashion. Mention those two words in the same sentence around PETA supporters and you can bet the fur will be flying. But, on the runways of New York Fashion Week, fur has turned into (gasp!) a must-have item for fall—good looking fake fur, that is. Leave it to designer Marc Bouwer to send models down the runway in mink minidresses. Fashion Week is underway in New York City and while the BIG names in fashion, including Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein and Vera Wang have yet to unveil their collections experts say they are already spotting hot, new trends.
