French Union on American Soil

Well, that didn’t take long… Her ex-husband may have beat her to the altar, but France’s former first lady, Cécilia Ciganer-Albéniz was not far behind. The 50-year-old mother divorced current French president Nicolas Sarkozy last October after more than a decade of marriage. He went on to marry former supermodel Carla Bruni last month. Now Ciganer-Albéniz has just tied the knot with her Moroccan-born public relations executive Richard Attias in New York. If you ask supermodel Carla Bruni’s mother then the answer is “yes.” At least that’s what is being trumpeted on the front page of France’s “Le Parisien.” According to Bruni’s mother, Marisa Borini, official confirmation could come as early as January 1st.
