With his personal life in turmoil, Tiger Woods has announced he plans to take an “indefinite break” from golf. Tiger has been mostly silent since his early morning car crash, but finally admitted to infidelity in a statement on his web site. The Bee Gees are returning to the stage… though it’s not the concert stage. The award-winning singing group is taking its act to Broadway and London’s West End. On Saturday Robin Gibb announced that a theatre musical based on the disco trio’s greatest hits, including “Stayin’ Alive” and “Jive Talkin’” is currently in the works. According to Gibb, the project should open to the public in the next 12-16 months. In the meantime, another popular singer is making her debut on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Garth Brooks’ Active Retirement

Perhaps Garth Brooks’ definition of retirement is not the same as mine. I think of retirement as a time to lounge around on tropical islands (with no time pieces in sight) sipping on fruity libations and catching up on some serious zzz’s. Brooks meanwhile is officially retired and he’s keeping the work schedule of a half dozen entertainers. This weekend the country music star took to the stage for five hours to play five concerts at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in front of nearly 100,000 people. Harry’s creator has gone sleuthing. At least that’s what observers of J.K. Rowling are telling news reporters. Neighbors of the woman responsible for penning the beyond popular “Harry Potter” books is said to be working on her next potential best seller—-a detective novel. Rowling has reportedly been spotted at cafes in Scotland writing a crime fiction book. It’s familiar turf for Rowling—you’ll recall she famously wrote initial drafts of the Potter story in the Scottish city’s cafes.
