Easter Traditions and Marriage

It is a tradition of our marriage not to eat meat on Good Friday. We traditionally have salmon patties for lunch or dinner on Good Friday. So does our daughter and her husband. At our current church we have hot cross buns after the service. The same thing used to happen in another church we belonged to in Sydney. I don’t, since I’m gluten free. Church-Going Cherub

The week before Easter brings a marathon of church-going for Christians. There’s church Maundy Thursday, with communion; church Good Friday; and a variety of Sunday-morning services to celebrate Easter. Since I was a child, I’ve attended church Thursday, Friday, and gone to one service on Sunday morning – the Easter Sunrise Service. Yep, we got up, put on our Sunday finest, and drove (sometimes walked) off to a service that started at 6:00am. I admit I’m one who doesn’t eat meat on Good Friday. It’s something our family has always adhered to. So if you’re looking for a fish recipe for the day, or for any other time, here is the fish curry I mentioned recently.
