Nicolas Cage Refuses to Turn the Other Cheek and Natalie Slams Amy

A few weeks ago, I blogged about Kathleen Turner’s new autobiography titled “’Send Yourself Roses.” More specifically, I blogged about the things Kathleen said about her co-stars. She had accused Nicolas Cage of being a criminal while filming Peggy Sue Got Married, saying that he was arrested twice for drunk driving and once for stealing a dog. Grammy and Academy Award News

Two of my favorite award shows are coming up soon – the Grammys and the Academy Awards. There is a bit of new on the Grammy front. Troubled songstress Amy Winehouse, who many critics have picked to win several Grammys this year, will not attend the ceremony. Well, it isn’t so much that she won’t attend the Grammys – she can’t! Her request for a visa to the U.S. was denied. She is nominated for six Grammys, but apparently, that pulled no weight at all with the American Embassy in London who chose to refuse her visa request. Beyonce Crossing the Line, Drew Foots a BIG Bill and Lindsay’s New Job at the Morgue

I suspect the TV ratings for this year’s Grammy Awards will surpass the numbers the Golden Globes got earlier this week. Not that they could get any worse… Despite the threat of picket lines by striking Hollywood writers, the Grammy Awards will air as scheduled on February 10th. But, unlike with the Golden Globe Awards, A-list celebs are saying they will appear for the music industry’s biggest night. Grammy Nominations are Announced

Despite having personal problems lately, Kanye West (whose mother just died) and Amy Winehouse (whose been plagued with a number of problems) were nominated for a total of 14 Grammys between them. Kanye received eight nominations including Album of the Year and Rap Album of the Year for Graduation. Kanye will be going against the likes of Common (for Finding Forever), Jay-Z (for Kingdom Come), T.I. (for T.I. vs T.I.P) and Nas (for Hip Hop is Dead) for Rap Album of the Year. Michael Jackson: Converting to Islam?

There is talk that Michael Jackson is planning to convert to Islam. It was brother Jermaine that released this news to the media earlier this week. Jermaine, a Muslim since 1989, said that Michael had been reading Islamic books and is interested in the faith. Maybe Michael is looking for something to provide him with inner peace after two very tumultuous decades. Michael has actually been lying relatively low lately. The Grammy Awards show, the biggest night in music, comes on tomorrow (Feb 11th) on CBS. I already have my DVR set to record just in case I forget because I don’t want to miss the reunion of the Police.
