Researching Insurance Options – Part 2

My head is filled with numbers! My husband and I have been researching what our available options are for several different kinds of insurance. First, we made an appointment with our insurance agent. Yesterday, we went to that appointment, and talked things over. Our insurance company is nationwide, and well known. We already had car insurance, and homeowners insurance from them. What is An Insurance Agent?

An insurance agent represents an insurance company or insurer that pays the agent a commission for transacting business with the insurance company or insurer. An agent works for the insurance company and keeps his primary obligation on representing the companies that he writes insurance with. This is very different than an insurance broker who is a representative for the customer, the insurance buyer.
