’tis Himself

I was recently telling my mother about how much my son looks like himself each day. At first this is strange but hear me out. When my son was born he looked like a baby and he’s been looking like a baby for most of the time I’ve known him. He’s cute like a baby and my wife and I (and our families) attempt to discover features that look like us. He has my wife’s eyes, my hairline, an unconfirmed nose (perhaps a great uncle?) and someone else’s cheekbones. While it is great to see where his genetic inheritance may … Continue reading

You can honor St. Patrick and celebrate all things Irish by feasting on some of my favorite simple fish dishes: HOMEMADE FISH STICKS AND … Continue reading

Popular Dance Still Kicking

Michael Flatley and his Riverdance phenomenon catapulted traditional Irish step dancing into the annals of pop culture. But, Flatley’s got nothing on my 2-year-old. My daughter loves to dance. Ever since she saw Elmo make like Michael Flatley on TV, there’s been no stopping her pint-sized body from jiggling uncontrollably. Couple that with her obsession with ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” (she spins around the house insisting that she is doing the “cha cha cha” and the “wumba”) and I was compelled to reach for the phone to call an agent (just kidding–I called our local dance studio). I wanted … Continue reading
