I filed this one under: “I’ll believe it when I see it.” Life & Style magazine is reporting that Justin Timberlake has agreed to meet up with his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears at… get this… a Spears family barbecue this summer. According to the magazine, Brit’s dad/conservator Jamie Spears was the one who begged (I mean asked) the “SexyBack” singer to meet with his daughter in a neutral and “laid-back” environment. Britney’s Reformation Continues—-Is There a Wedding in Her Future?

The answer to that question is “yes.” Only the former popwreck won’t be the one saying, “I do.” According to OK! magazine, the twice divorced mother of two will be walking down the aisle in a bridesmaid’s dress during her sister Jamie Lynn’s upcoming wedding to fiancé Casey Aldridge. It would stand to reason that big sis Brit would somehow be involved in the event given that it’s being held at her massive country estate in the family’s native Louisiana. It’s no secret that the 26-year-old pop star is guest starring on an upcoming episode of the CBS comedy “How I Met Your Mother,” but who would have imagined the response from her co-stars would be so, well, uh, positive? Coming soon to primetime… Jamie Lynn Spears… minus her growing baby bump. The pregnant “Zoey 101” star (and Brit’s little sis) will appear in an episode of the ABC comedy, “Miss Guided” on March 20th. But don’t be looking for signs of a bun in the oven. Score another one for Britney Spears’ dad. The man who the troubled singer has publicly called a “bully” and once said she “can’t stand to be around” has come to her rescue—yet again. This time Jamie Spears, the temporary co-executor of her estate, helped get lawyers to hammer out a deal so the trainwreck could see her two sons for the first time in nearly two months. Sam Lufti, the man Britney Spears’ parents consider to a parasite sucking the life out of their derailed daughter, has now (at least temporarily) been shut out of the popwreck’s world. Yesterday a judge named Brit’s father, Jamie Spears, conservator of his daughter. Which basically means that he is now in control of the 26-year-old singer’s life. In addition, the judge also slapped Lufti with a restraining order mandating him to stay away from Britney, who continues to be evaluated at UCLA Medical Center’s psychiatric hospital. Oops, She Did It Again! Britney Spears Recommitted to Hospital

Same sad scene different day. It was déjà vu for Los Angeles paramedics last night as they once again returned to Casa Crazy (a.k.a. Britney Spears’ mansion). According to news reports (have you turned on your TV this morning), the popwreck was strapped on a stretcher by emergency personnel and taken by ambulance to UCLA Medical Center for a 72-hour psychiatric hold. In a previous blog I mentioned that talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw is reportedly being investigated by the California Board of Psychology for practicing without a license while visiting Britney Spears’ after her latest meltdown.
