One of my favorite shows has been cancelled…again. “Jericho” was cancelled by CBS after its first season due to viewer decline. Of course, the fact that CBS put the show on hiatus during the Christmas holidays didn’t help much. But rabid fans weren’t going to just let “Jericho” go peacefully. They sent over 40,000 pounds of nuts to CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler’s door. The nuts were a tribute to the line “Nuts” uttered by lead character Jake Green (Skeet Ulrich) in the season finale. After the overwhelming response from fans, CBS decided to give the show a second, shorter … Continue reading

Heath’s Will and Esai Beats a Rap

Heath Ledger’s will was recently revealed and guess what? He hadn’t updated it since the birth of his daughter Matilda Rose. Let this be a lesson to you parents out there – update your will to include your kids. Heath’s will was filed in April 2003 and in it, he left everything he had to his parents and sister. Manhattan Surrogate Court papers show Heath had less than $145,000 in New York assets including his car, furniture, and fixtures. However, Heath’s rep has come out saying that both Michelle and Matilda will be taken care of, as far as the … Continue reading

Scott Baio Sticks with VH1 Scott Baio’s longest relationship just may be with VH1. The notoriously marriage shy Baio has agreed to a second season of his VH1 show “Scott Baio is 45…And Single.” Actually, at the end of the first season, after working with life coach Doc Ali, Scott asked his girlfriend Renee to marry him. Renee had a surprise of her own – she is pregnant. So it seems as if this Hollywood confirmed bachelor is not only going to get married, but be a daddy as well. The second season of the show will concentrate on Scott … Continue reading

This Week in Television – May 25, 2007

Probably the most viewed show on television this week was the “American Idol” finale. We saw Jordin Sparks outlast Blake Lewis to be named season six’s winner. What a long finale show it was! I mean, I was really only interested in seeing who won, but it just went on and on! There were performances by former Idols (Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks, Chris Daughtry, even this year’s 7th place contestant, Sanjaya Malakar, got to sing). I guess Katharine McPhee was busy. Anyhow, in addition to all the Idol talent, we also saw Tony Bennett, Bette Midler, … Continue reading

Another Good Show Cancelled

I hate CBS. Okay, I don’t really hate CBS, but I am beginning to get annoyed with the major networks in general. It seems that each time I become interested in a show, they cancel it. Now, maybe you would say my viewing judgment is lacking, but honestly, it seems that lately, the executives at the network rarely give a show a chance. Case in point – CBS just cancelled “Jericho.” I have loved “Jericho” every since it started. In the beginning, it pulled in decent ratings. I watched faithfully, even after a cowardly CBS pulled it for almost three … Continue reading

Jericho’s Skeet Ulrich

Although the subject is a bit depressing (the apocalypse), CBS certain seems to have a hit on its hands with the new show “Jericho.” It is my favorite fall show, even though each episode is so edgy that I usually spend the whole hour biting my nails. One of the main reasons I decided to tune in to begin with was its star, Skeet Ulrich. I didn’t realize it until I started researching Skeet’s movie career, but I have seen many of his movies since he first started acting. I saw his third film The Craft, where he played bad … Continue reading
