Jerry Seinfeld and George Clooney Returning to Primetime

I’m not sure which one I am more thrilled about. Jerry, Jerry, Jerry Seinfeld is finally returning to the small screen after more than a decade’s absence. According to reports, the popular comedian turned actor is planning to star in a new sitcom for NBC called The Marriage Ref. In an interview with Variety, the Seinfeld star show will tackle the highs and lows of married life. “This is not a therapy show, it’s a comedy show,” Seinfeld bemused. “After nine years of marriage, I have discovered that the comedic potential of this subject is quite rich.” The series, which … Continue reading

Thank Goodness: The Plug is Pulled on the Bill Gates/Jerry Seinfeld Commercials

I don’t know if you have seen the recent ads for Microsoft, but it involved Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld. I was in the computing field back when Bill Gates was just another name in the industry, but I’ve always had an opinion of him. Although horribly successful in his field (as is Apple co-founder Steve Jobs), I’ve always imagined that Bill had to be a total geek to do all he’s done. And, being a geek, he probably lacks in personality and social skills (but I am sure his billions make up for it.) It appears that someone decided … Continue reading

OUCH! Celebrity Wrecks

Before I tell you why Jerry Seinfeld should be wearing a neck brace (and a full body cast) instead of “Dancing with the Stars” pro Derek Hough I wanted to give you an update on how the blond two-stepper is doing today. Two words: NOT good. According to reports, the popular ABC dance competition might make history next week when Hough’s celebrity partner Shannon Elizabeth is forced to waltz her way around the dance floor without her injured partner. Doctors have instructed Hough to stay off the dance floor until further notice. PEOPLE magazine is reporting that the 22-year-old pro … Continue reading

Jerry Seinfeld to the Rescue

You don’t have to be a sports fan to appreciate this next tale… even though it involves a famous NFL quarterback. Jerry Seinfeld is livid with a guy I used to work with. Jay Zollar is the station manager at the FOX affiliate in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The same place Eli Manning and the rest of the New York Giants are visiting this weekend as they prepare to take on the Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship game Sunday evening. A few days ago Zollar learned that Manning’s favorite show is “Seinfeld.” So as a dig to the football … Continue reading

Jerry Buzzes Around Israel and Brad Backs Out of Potential Big Screen Blockbuster

Jerry Seinfeld always knew he would return to the Holy Land… someday, though he says he could have never predicted it would be to promote a movie about an animated bee. Funny how things just work out the way they do. What’s more, the Jewish comic says there is no way he could have fathomed his visit would be front-page news. Local newspapers devoted multiple pages to his trip and references to his humor bled into serious news stories. “Yada, yada, yada,” said TV political analyst Amnon Abramovitz on Sunday after reading a story about the Mideast meeting called by … Continue reading

Celebrities Struggle To Get Their Kids To Eat Vegetables Too

You see them in pictures on the set of their dad’s latest movie or walking hand in hand with their pop princess mom down Rodeo Drive. But what is life like for the kids of celebrity parents when the cameras aren’t around? According to comedian Jerry Seinfeld it’s not all that exciting. Unless you count trying to get young children to eat vegetables exciting. Jerry and his wife Jessica Seinfeld say they spent so much time trying to get the kids (Sascha, 6, Julian, 4, and Shepherd, 2) to eat healthy it wore them out. “We tried bribing them, begging … Continue reading

Celebrity Updates: Barkley, Seinfeld, and More

In between the bits about Brit and the parts about Paris there come stories about celebrities whose work should really be grabbing headlines, but typically don’t. Such is the case with basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley. The all-star athlete showed he is able to score big on and off the court when he treated 100 Lake Tahoe-area firefighters to dinner Saturday night. Barkley toured the devastation of a nearby wildfire that destroyed 254 homes last month when he was in town to play in a charity golf event last week. The fire displaced 3,500 residents and caused more than … Continue reading

Happy Festivus!

Happy Festivus to you and yours. You remember don’t you? “Festivus for the rest of us!” (That line always makes me smile.) For all you non-“Seinfeld” fans, Festivus is a wacky holiday popularized in a 1997 “Seinfeld” episode. In the episode the holiday was celebrated by the Costanza clan on December 23rd and featured an airing of grievances and feats of strength in which a guest must pin the host before the party ends. The holiday was the creation of Frank Constanza as a protest of Christmas’ commercialism. In the show he puts up an unadorned aluminum pole instead of … Continue reading

Where Are They Now—Jerry Seinfeld

Jerry Seinfeld used to be a regular member of my household—-in my pre-mom days. Like millions of others, I too was a rabid “Seinfeld” fan, and even when the NBC hit comedy ended in 1998 I remained loyal by watching the show in syndication. Since then I got married, gave birth and life changed—my “Seinfeld” days are now officially over. Coincidentally, in the days since his award-winning sitcom went off the air Seinfeld too has gone from top paying actor to husband and dad. The comedian still does standup, but spends most of his time as husband to wife Jessica … Continue reading
