Bill O’Reilly Says He’ll Boycott Sean Penn Films

Sean Penn may be slated to play Larry in the upcoming Three Stooges film, but Bill O’Reilly won’t be there to see it. O’Reilly, the host of Fox’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” did an interview for The Hollywood Reporter and when asked what actor’s political views disturbed him so much he won’t see their films, O’Reilly said “Just Sean Penn.” O’Reilly did concede that Penn is a great actor (one of the greatest actors of my generation in my honest opinion), but said that he doesn’t want to give his ten bucks to someone that gives “aid and comfort” to such … Continue reading

The Oscar Aftermath

Well, I only got to watch about 9 hours of Oscar coverage yesterday as my hubby and I decided to take our son to a train show. Then, I missed some of E!’s coverage because I couldn’t hear it over the steamy train engine running in my kitchen. But, I still loved it. Oscar Day is THE yearly holiday for me at my house and this year, it didn’t disappoint (even though I, unlike most people, thought it ran a bit short!). So what were the highlights and lowlights of the night? Well, on the red carpet, certain sites are … Continue reading

Celebrity Updates: Roger Ebert and Jon Stewart

It’s nice to see Roger Ebert’s name in the headlines for something not related to his health problems. This time it’s good news for the 65-year-old film critic. According to Hollywood insiders, Ebert will be honored at the 17th annual Gotham Awards for his contributions to independent cinema. (An official announcement about the Ebert tribute is planned for tomorrow.) The Gotham Awards celebrate independent movies and films set in New York and Ebert is reportedly only the second film critic to receive the honor. (Pauline Kael was the first.) The honor will be presented to the famous newspaper and TV … Continue reading

Stewart And Oscar—Will The Second Time Be The Charm?

Jon Stewart sealed the deal. America’s favorite faux newscaster is going to give hosting the Academy Awards another try. His first stab at the prestigious gig came in 2006 when he got mixed reviews for his performance. In 2007 the show was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and drew 40.1 million viewers—-about 2 million more than when Stewart hosted. But, producers insist that the show’s lackluster ratings in 2006 weren’t due to Stewart’s performance. “He did a great job two years ago,” Oscar telecast producer Gil Cates told reporters. “You need a host who is not afraid of the unexpected, who … Continue reading

Celebrity “Real” or “Rumor” – Stewart Heads To Iraq and Ryan and Jake Duke It Out

Stewart Heads To Iraq Jon Stewart has a running gag on his “Daily Show,” which features phony news reports from war-torn Iraq. Now, word has it the Comedy Central star is headed there himself. That is a RUMOR. However, starting next week the show will air “remotes” from Iraq during a special series dubbed “Operation Silent Thunder: ‘The Daily Show’ in Iraq.” While Stewart remained in the comfy confines of a TV studio, Senior War Correspondent Rob Riggle actually flew to Iraq. The network is calling Riggle’s reports “in-depth coverage and insights from the front lines.” His reports begin airing … Continue reading

Hollywood Depos Galore

If he hasn’t rued the day he agreed to work for Britney “train wreck” Spears yet, then he probably is now. Daimon Shippen, bodyguard and manny for Spears’ two young sons, was served with a deposition subpoena related to the singer’s ongoing custody battle with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. The dark-haired child helper is just one member of Spears’ inner circle to be served with papers relating to the custody war over Sean Preston, 23 months, and Jayden James, 11 months. Alli Sims, Spears’ frequent nightclub companion was also served with a deposition subpoena a few days ago. Though, news … Continue reading

Even More Celebrity Milestones

Music executive (and Mariah Carey’s ex-husband) Tommy Mottola will no doubt have a Father’s Day to remember… next year. His wife just announced that she is expecting the couple’s first child. Mexican singer Thalia shared the good news on her website late last week. According to the message, the Mexican singer is due to give birth in a “few months.” The 35-year-old singer says she is ready to be a mom and is excited to expand the family. In fact, earlier this year Thalia told several news outlets that she was finally ready to settle down and begin a family … Continue reading
