Katie Couric hasn’t even appeared on-air as CBS’ new lead anchor and she’s already helping the network make history. I remember the day former “Today” show co-host Katie Couric retuned to work following the death of her husband Jay Monahan. Her normally peppy voice cracked as she publicly thanked viewers who had sent her letters of support during her personal tragedy. It choked me up. The former “Today” show host named as the first woman solo anchor of a network evening newscast, is embarking on a six-city tour where she will meet informally with viewers like you to hear what you’re interested in seeing on the news.
