Celebrities are often the first ones to speak up and act after a disaster. Remember gun wielding Sean Penn rescuing people in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina? How about Wyclef Jean raising money after the Haiti earthquake? But, they don’t seem quite as vocal about the Gulf Coast oil disaster. The oil is still spewing out of the broken rig in the Gulf Coast almost a month after the accident. And, it is not like BP has not been receiving ideas on what to do to stop it. Approximately 10,000 ideas have come in from the public. While some are not feasible, BP has said that they are looking at around 700 of the solutions. Just in time for Valentine’s Day Kevin Costner and his wife, Christine Baumgartner, have a new cutie to love. The famous couple’s newest member is Hayes Logan Costner, who weighed 8 lbs., 15 oz., upon arrival Thursday night in Los Angeles. The “Dances with Wolves” star’s rep says baby Hayes and his mom are doing “great,” including big brother Cayden Wyatt, who at 21 months was reportedly hesitant to share his parents with his new sibling. From dancing with wolves to singing to racecar fans… Kevin Costner can do it all. Or at least he’s trying to. The actor turned singer just signed a high-profile one-year gig with racing organization NASCAR to provide them with personal appearances and music. According to reports, the movie star (and now country-rock band singer) is the new voice of NASCAR. Costner’s band Modern West will reportedly debut their new video Backyard on NASCAR.com. Kevin Costner may be putting diaper duty on hold to return to the big screen in a sequel to his award-winning baseball movie “Bull Durham.” According to reports, Costner has been meeting with the film’s director Ron Shelton to discuss the possibility of resurrecting his Crash Davis character in a sequel to the 1988 hit movie.
