Nahla… say it with me… GNAW-lah. Yes, it’s pronounced very similar to the name of Simba’s gal pal, Nala, in Disney’s popular 1994 animated feature film The Lion King. Nala means, “gift” in Swahili. By now you’ve probably seen the new Jenny Craig ad campaign starring Queen Latifah. Oprah Winfrey spent part of the weekend spreading her seeds of wisdom to young adults in our nation’s capital. The celebrated talk show host spoke at commencement ceremonies at Howard University Saturday. “My integrity is not for sale, and neither is yours,” Winfrey told more than 30,000 people who attended the graduation ceremonies.
