Visiting the Island of Lanai

The Hawaiian Island of Lanai, earned the nickname, “Pineapple Isle,” because James Dole (of Dole pineapple fame) once owned it. In 1994, it became known as Microsoft founder Bill Gates’ playground (that was the year he rented the entire island for a week to host his wedding ceremony and festivities).
