Lance Armstrong Strikes Again

I was wondering what Lance Armstrong was doing with his free time these days… Now I know! He’s courting Kate Hudson. If there was any way to snuff out rumors that she was getting ready to walk down the aisle with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Owen Wilson, showing up on Armstrong’s arm three nights in a row would be it. It is the headline of the weekend: “Armstrong and Hudson More than Just Friends!” I’m not sure I’m buying this one. Yes, it’s hard to deny that the seven-time Tour de France winner and the actress have been getting chummy … Continue reading

Lance Armstrong vs. the New York City Marathon—Take Two

Personally, I don’t know how he mustered enough courage to appear on the streets of New York after displaying some, uh, highly questionable pre-marathon behavior. But, I guess when you are pounding the pavement with nearly 40,000 other runners you figure you’re just a number. Only, Lance Armstrong was anything but just a number. In fact, the seven-time Tour de France champ wasn’t even issued a race number like the rest of the field. Rather, he ran with a bib that spelled out his famous first name. (Nothing like trying to stay inconspicuous.) But, at least this year the 36-year-old … Continue reading

The Ultimate Hollywood Odd Couple

Remember the good-looking guy in high school that every girl wanted to date? He was the older, untouchable senior who made sophomore girls swoon and never had a steady girlfriend because, well, he didn’t have to. With so little of him to go around it wasn’t prudent for him to commit to a single female. Then, one day it happened. Stud muffin got a girlfriend and she turned out to be the equivalent of America Ferrera’s character on ABC’s “Ugly Betty.” That’s when his stock plummeted and tongues started wagging. That’s about the only analogy I can come up with … Continue reading

Breaking Up Celebrity Style

Now who’s going to cheer him on when he runs the New York City marathon? Oh, wait… the rest of the world. It’s not clear whether fashion designer Tory Burch will turn out in her hometown to support Lance Armstrong when he runs the 26.2-mile race next month now that they are no longer a couple. Yes, another one bites the dust for the seven-time Tour de France champ. According to the New York Post, the cycling warrior and Burch are no longer an item. Burch’s spokesperson told the newspaper that the breakup was “amicable” and that “geography” was to … Continue reading

Lance’s New Adventure

Well, you had to see this coming. Lance Armstrong is no dummy. (A heartbreaker, perhaps, but no dummy.) When he teamed up with Nike in 2004 to create the LIVESTRONG wristband he had to know that it was just a steppingstone in his race to raise cancer awareness. As of last month more than 70 million of the yellow LIVESTRONG wristbands have been sold. The LIVESTRONG emblem is a representation of Armstrong’s mantra in life, and now the seven-time Tour de France champ wants to give people a new way to show their support for cancer victims and survivors. Armstrong … Continue reading

Sheryl Crow Adopts A Baby Boy

Sheryl Crow will be celebrating her first Mother’s Day on Sunday. According to her website, the singer just adopted a 2-week-old baby boy she named Wyatt Steven. The name honors three important men in Crow’s life—her father Wyatt Crow, her younger brother Steven Crow and her manager Steven “Scooter” Weintraub. The announcement on her site didn’t give much more information except to say that the child was born in the United States and is healthy. “We are enjoying some very private family time,” Crow writes. Personally, I think it’s great news. This is a woman who has survived an emotional … Continue reading

Lance’s New Love and Carmen’s New Promise

Forgive me. I can’t help myself. I realize that they are many women in America who nixed Tour de France champ Lance Armstrong from their hottie list when he broke Sheryl Crow’s heart (after splitting from his wife and mother of his three children), but there’s something about the guy that compels me to keep blogging about his life. I’ve written about his charitable work, his attempt at conquering the New York City Marathon and his rumored “bo-mance” with Matthew McConaughey. Now, it seems Armstrong has moved on from McConaughey and is romancing a new woman—-fashion designer Tory Burch. Cycling … Continue reading

Sheryl Crow’s Looking For A Cowboy

I have always enjoyed listening to Sheryl Crow’s music; however, I will admit that I didn’t start following her personal life until she started dating Lance Armstrong. (It’s no secret that I think the seven-time Tour de France champ is hot.) Like millions of other Crow and Armstrong fans, I was caught off guard when the father of three divorced his wife and hooked up with Crow. But, I suppose, such is life in the fast lane. A couple of years went by and the new couple got engaged and publicly flaunted their relationship on various TV shows (mainly ones … Continue reading

Lance Armstong vs. The New York Marathon: The Results

Lance, Lance, Lance, if I had access to your cellphone number I would have called and told you myself… 26.2-miles is no walk in the park. Even after others warned you—you still didn’t follow their advice. Now, you feel like dying. I don’t blame you. I’ve been there myself. If you haven’t already heard, Lance Armstrong crossed the finish line at today’s New York Marathon in less than “peak” condition. In fact, news reports are saying that the seven-time Tour de France champion has categorized the marathon as “without a doubt the hardest physical thing I have ever done.” The … Continue reading

Lance Armstrong vs. The New York City Marathon

In this corner… seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong… and in this corner… one of the most prestigious running events in the world—the New York City Marathon. Ding. Ding. Let the games begin. Okay, I’m sure the start of the race won’t include a public introduction of Armstrong tomorrow, but it is his first race (without a bike) since winning his seventh Tour victory more than a year ago. Armstrong is certainly not the first celebrity to take part in the 26.2-mile race (and he certainly won’t be the last). In fact, the world-renown cyclist will getting a little … Continue reading
