It’s a girl for 17-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears. The teen sister of mega-meltdown queen Britney Spears gave birth to a baby girl just a few hours ago, according to news reports. Reports say Spears and her fiancé Casey Aldridge have named their new addition Maddie Briann. The baby was reportedly born in a Mississippi hospital where Britney, her father Jamie, mom Lynne and brother Bryan gathered to welcome the newest member of the family. MARRYING Actually, marri-ED would be more accurate. “American Pie” star Jason Biggs is officially off the market ladies. The actor tied the knot with actress Jenny Mollen in an extremely understated ceremony in Los Angeles last week. According to Star Magazine, the couple wed at City Hall a week ago today without a single family member or friend in attendance. It’s no secret that the 26-year-old pop star is guest starring on an upcoming episode of the CBS comedy “How I Met Your Mother,” but who would have imagined the response from her co-stars would be so, well, uh, positive? As you likely know by now derailed pop princess Britney Spears was granted an early release from UCLA Medical Center’s psych ward last week because a court representative found “no just cause” for the hold. “No just cause?!” Apparently, the court representative doesn’t watch the news, live in Los Angeles, or read this blog. In all seriousness Spears’ early release should be a lesson to anyone who thinks that a person should be institutionalized based solely on what he or she might consider “irrational” behavior. Same sad scene different day. It was déjà vu for Los Angeles paramedics last night as they once again returned to Casa Crazy (a.k.a. Britney Spears’ mansion). According to news reports (have you turned on your TV this morning), the popwreck was strapped on a stretcher by emergency personnel and taken by ambulance to UCLA Medical Center for a 72-hour psychiatric hold. In a previous blog I mentioned that talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw is reportedly being investigated by the California Board of Psychology for practicing without a license while visiting Britney Spears’ after her latest meltdown. It’s a classic case of good news/bad news. The good news for Britney Spears is that someone actually wants to represent her in court—-for free. I can’t help but think of all the guests that have appeared on Dr. Phil McGraw’s syndicated talk show and had to endure the host shouting his trademark line, “What are you thinking?” in their faces… on national TV.
