Pop Culture Round Up: It’s Not What You Think

It’s not what you think, or so claims Mary-Kate Olsen. The normally rail-thin actress says her baggy outfits are not signs that she is pregnant. Tabloids have been reporting that the former “Full House” star is expecting a child, but Olsen’s rep recently issued a statement saying: “Mary-Kate is absolutely not pregnant.” Olsen’s fans criticized the publications for putting Mary-Kate on their covers and jumping to the conclusion that she was having a baby. The actress’ rep declined to comment on her client’s weight gain. However, if there was any doubt that Mary-Kate was not pregnant one would only have … Continue reading

No Criminal Case in Heath Ledger’s Death

They know he died from an accidental drug overdose, but federal prosecutors wanted to learn how actor Heath Ledger obtained the powerful painkillers that contributed to his death. But, now, it appears that will remain a mystery. Yesterday prosecutors overseeing a Drug Enforcement Administration investigation into whether the painkillers found in Ledger’s system were obtained illegally decided not to pursue criminal charges against the person who supplied the actor with the drugs. Law enforcement officials say they bowed out of the probe “because they don’t believe there’s a viable target.” The announcement comes less than 24 hours after actress Mary-Kate … Continue reading

Bernie Mac’s Health and Mary-Kate’s Heath

Bernie Mac has been hospitalized for pneumonia, but a source, who reportedly knows Mac’s family, told the Chicago Sun-Times that the comedian is in “very, very critical condition.” Bernie Mac’s publicist, Danica Smith, calls it a “very horrible rumor,” saying that there is no truth to it at all. Mac was admitted to a Chicago hospital (his hometown) on August 1, but Smith said he was responding well and was expected to be released soon. Mac had previously been diagnosed with sarcoidosis, a chronic inflammatory disease, in his lungs, but Smith said this bout with pneumonia is not related to … Continue reading

So what is fact and what is fiction? Let’s break it down: THE FUNERAL According to a New York funeral home director, … Continue reading

Fashion Files: Virtual Paper Dolls and Pretty in Pink

VIRTUAL PAPER DOLLS My 3-year-old daughter is just getting interested in paper dolls. We were at a friend’s house the other day and she found a container filled with magnetic paper dolls and their magnetic wardrobe. She spent about an hour mixing and matching outfits and shoes and I seriously considered running to the store to buy her a magnetic paper doll collection of her very own. (We later decided it would be something to add to her Santa list.) If you have older daughters who are still interested in paper dolls you might want to check out a unique … Continue reading

Juicy Hollywood Gossip: Mary-Kate’s Frown Explained and Kingsley Marries

Ah, Mary-Kate Olsen may have a billion dollars (okay, maybe not but it seems like it), but she still just does not get it. She was asked why she seemed to always look depressed in photos and she said, “I don’t want my picture taken.” She went on to say it is okay to have her photo taken at a red carpet event, but not just on the street. “So every time I see paparazzi, I cover my face so they don’t get a picture, and I’m just a mean person who doesn’t smile.” Hum, I have seen her face … Continue reading

Celebrity Tidbits: Stepping In, Stepping Out, and Stepping Up

STEPPING IN Actress Mary-Kate Olsen is stepping into a new role.
