Berkeley Breathed – Crime Fighter?

When I was in college, cartoonist Berkeley Breathed was my favorite. I absolutely loved his “Bloom County” comic strip. Opus – the lovable penguin, Bill the Cat – too ugly to die, Milo Bloom – the brainy ten year old, and Steve Dallas – the former frat boy were among the great characters in that comic strip. It ran from 1980 until 1989. Now, the Pulitzer Prize winning Breathed is trying to help authorities track down a killer from almost 30 years ago. The Sad Legacy of JonBenet Ramsey

She has been making the news longer than she was alive. We all know the face – sparkling blue eyes, long blonde curly hair, perhaps a bit more makeup than most of us would choose to put on our six-year-old daughter.
