It’s a boy… almost. Bristol Palin is reportedly due with her first child this Saturday, but her grandfather says the 18-year-old could give birth any minute now. If you thought the spotlight has dimmed on the soon-to-be teen mother, think again. According to Sarah Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, gifts for the Alaskan governor’s first grandchild have been coming in by the truckload. “In Sarah’s mailroom, there’s 87 boxes – big boxes of mail that haven’t even been opened,” 70-year-old Heath told Grandparents.com. It may have been the most documented first pregnancy since Princess Diana’s, and now it is finally over. According to several news sources, actress Naomi Watts and her actor boyfriend Liev Schreiber (finally) welcomed their first child, a baby boy, less than 48 hours ago. The couple named their son, Alexander Pete Schreiber. The name Alexander is believed to be in honor of Schreiber’s grandfather, with whom he was close, and Pete is short for Peter–Naomi’s father. Watts hasn’t even given birth yet (though she’s reportedly due to pop any hour now) and she has already booked her next post-pregnancy acting gig. Forget about being a stay-at-home mom, Watts has reportedly signed on to star in the big screen adaptation of J.K. Dermot Mulroney and Catherine Keener In my blog about independent films of 1997, I mentioned one of my favorite indie actresses, Catherine Keener. I knew she and husband Dermot Mulroney had separated, but on June 8th, the couple made it official. Divorces papers stating “irreconcilable differences” were filed by Mulroney in the Los Angeles Superior Court. The two, who wed in 1990, have one child, 7 year old son Clyde Keener Mulroney. Let’s face it; if actress Naomi Watts didn’t want people to know she was pregnant she should have worn Jennifer Lopez’s dress to the Oscars. Mrs. Marc Anthony’s Oscar gown looked a lot more maternity-like than Watts’s did. Just to set the record straight–Lopez is not pregnant, but Watts is. But, that’s only half the story.
