Stars Celebrate Obama Win

Oprah Winfrey was front and center last night in Grant Park as her “boy” Barack Obama addressed a crowd of about 200,000 screaming supporters as the nation’s first African American President-elect. Winfrey has long claimed that she is Obama’s No. 1 fan, so it was no surprise that the TV talk show queen was on hand in Chicago to watch him make history. In fact, not only did Winfrey show up to the massive public rally in Grant Park she brought along her BFF Gayle King and Brad Pitt as well. “It feels like hope won,” Winfrey told news reporters. … Continue reading

Sarah Palin: No White Oprah

At least not for a while, anyway. In less than 48 hours we’ll know if Sarah Palin will be headed to Washington to help lead the country or if she’ll be jetting back to her Alaskan home to resume her duties as governor. For the past few days rumors have been flying that if the latter occurs Palin will be adding another line to her growing resume: TV talk show host. Reports claim that FOX News has offered the Republican vice presidential candidate a deal to host her own show. In addition, several newspapers have been reporting that Palin has … Continue reading

The Power of Guest Stars

Forget about Michael Phelps sinking or swimming during his stint as host of this week’s “Saturday Night Live,” I’m more interested in the rumor that “SNL” alum Tina Fey may be returning to the popular comedy sketch show to play Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. I have been a fan of Fey’s since she made her debut on “SNL” (she left to head up NBC’s “30 Rock”) and would be thrilled to see her back on late-night TV. “SNL” head honcho Lorne Michaels wouldn’t confirm Fey’s temporary return; rather all he would tell reporters is that whoever plays John … Continue reading

Oprah Denies Dissing Palin

It’s not something that happens everyday. In fact, as one of the most influential women on the planet (and one of the richest), TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey rarely feels the need to defend her actions to others. However, a recent report that claims the media mogul and “a couple of her top people are adamantly” against booking Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on her show, has Winfrey speaking out. In a rare personal statement released to media organizations the queen of talk came out swinging regarding a posting published on the Drudge Report that claimed she refused … Continue reading

Fitness Fanatics Visit Oprah

Not just any group of fitness fanatics… we’re talking about the best of the best. The world’s most decorated elite athletes are heading to Chicago this week to meet up with someone who knows a thing or two about working out and losing weight—-Oprah Winfrey. The winningest athlete in Olympic history, Michael Phelps, along with 150 other U.S. Olympic team members, including gold medal gymnast Nastia Liukin and basketball super star Kobe Bryant, who was a member of the gold medal winning “Redeem Team,” will be in the Windy City on Wednesday to tape the season premiere of “The Oprah … Continue reading

Oprah OWN’s the Airwaves

I just wrote a blog about “American Idol” and what a force that show is for other’s to deal with. But, you want to talk about a force – at least “American Idol” doesn’t have its own network (at least not yet). In case you have not heard, Oprah Winfrey apparently is not happy enough having a television show, a magazine, a satellite radio show, a production company, her Oprah.com website, and her own reality show (Oprah Winfrey’s The Big Give). No, now she is going to have her OWN network. And by OWN, I am not trying to emphasis … Continue reading

Just Saying No

Spice Girl turned reality TV star Victoria Beckham is denying that she is adding to her clan. The girl group singer insists that she is not pregnant (yet) and is currently concentrating on spending “quality time” with her three young sons. Beckham sparked rumors a few weeks ago when she told reporters that she dreamed of adding a baby girl to her brood of boys. Further fanning the rumor flames was the fact that the rail-thin mom was noticeably staying away from alcohol at her birthday celebration last month. Earlier this week the spicy mama issued this statement in an … Continue reading

Star Blasts Barbara–She Said WHAT?

I think Star Jones’ weight loss has gone to her head. Either that or she accidentally lost a few brain cells when she trying to shed pounds in her mid-section. You’d think after all that the former “View” co-host has gone through in the public eye during the last few years she would have learned that keeping her mouth shut (and not just around food) can be quite beneficial. Unfortunately, the world learned today that Star Jones has yet to learn how powerful silence can really be. Less than 24 hours after her former boss Barbara Walters (you know, the … Continue reading

Tom Cruising Back to Oprah’s Couch

Oprah Winfrey’s staff has had nearly three years to get the shoe prints off the expensive couch Tom Cruise jumped on while expressing his affections for Katie Holmes. Back then the two had just begun dating. Now Cruise and Holmes are married and the parents to 2-year-old daughter Suri. And you can expect to hear all about the Cruise clan when Tom returns to “The Oprah Winfrey Show” next week. Though, luckily for cleaning crews they won’t need to work overtime to stain guard the show’s furniture since producers say the first of the two-part interview was taped at the … Continue reading

Valerie Bertinelli Dishes the Dirt

She was the epitome of the sweet All American girl next door when she starred on “One Day at a Time,” but even though she was married to her rock star husband for 24 years – a monstrous amount of time by Hollywood standards – Valerie Bertinelli didn’t always play the good girl in real life. In a revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, Valerie had admitted to cheating on ex-hubby Eddie Van Halen. You can watch the entire interview on Oprah’s show Monday, but to tide you over until then, here are some of the juicy parts. Valerie says that … Continue reading
