Writer Dominick Dunne Dead at 83

While the country is still recovering from the death of the Lion of the Senate, Ted Kennedy, another celebrity died without much fanfare. Writer Dominick Dunne passed away yesterday at the age of 83 from bladder cancer. Dunne was cited on CNN as a “celebrity crime writer,” but he actually didn’t start crime writing until after a personal tragedy occurred. Dunne worked as a movie producer in Hollywood in the ‘60s, but addiction to alcohol and drugs caused him to flee the town. Once he got sober, he wrote the best seller “The Two Mrs. Grenvilles” and followed that success … Continue reading

Phil Spector Found Guilty of Second Degree Murder

I always think of Phil Spector as the Howard Hughes of music – incredibly talented and innovative, yet eccentric and reclusive. I always wondered how the same man who created the now famous “Wall of Sound” could also be the same one that reportedly kept wife Ronnie (of the Ronettes) captive in their home and waved a handgun at John Lennon. Now, he has been found guilty of second degree murder. In case you’ve forgotten the whole story (it has been dragging on since 2003), Spector was charged with the shooting death of actress/hostess Lana Clarkson. Clarkson, 40, had met … Continue reading

‘Heroes’ Love and Mistrial for Spector

“Heroes” cuties Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have denied a romance, but the rumors certainly have been circulating that these two have a little something something going on between them. Both have strongly denied a love connection between the just turned 18 actress and the 30 year old actor. Even co-star James Kyson Lee, who plays Ando on the hit show, has said, “the rumor is not true.” So what started all this talk of amour? There is a video that some clown obviously took on his cell phone that shows the two – gasp – dancing and even at … Continue reading

More Divorces, a Baby, and a Threat

It seems that every week in Hollywood, we get a couple of announcements of couple separations and at least one announcement of a couple expecting a little bundle of joy. Here is the latest from Hollywood: Divorces: Actress Anna Faris has filed for divorce from her husband of three years, actor Benjamin Indra. You may remember Faris from her roles in the Scary Movie series, Brokeback Mountain, and My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Indra has been in a few low budget horror flicks such as Lover’s Lane and Voodoo Academy. The couple married in 2004 and reportedly separated last month. CNN Newswoman … Continue reading

Celebrities Lost: Phil Spector

It was just recently announced that Phil Spector would not go to trial for murder until January 16, 2007. His court date has been rescheduled several times, after originally being set for September 2005, due to scheduling conflicts of lawyers and judges involved in the case. He has remained free on a $1 million dollar bond since November 2003. B-movie star Lana Clarkson was killed in Spector’s house in February 2003. Clarkson was waitressing at House of Blues and had only met Spector the day she died. Police said Spector was quoted as saying “I didn’t mean to shoot her.” … Continue reading
