In Honor of President Gordon B Hinckley

Yesterday evening President Gordon B Hinckley passed away. He is a man that will truly be missed for his wonderful talks, insight and guidance of the church. In many ways I look at President Hinckley as the prophet who has affected me most in my life. I was just a junior in high school when he was sustained as a prophet, but even as a young child I loved to hear him speak. Every General conference I would look forward to his insight and guidance. Relief Society: “In the Arms of His Love”

In his talk “In the Arms of His Love” President Gordon B Hinckley spoke specifically to the women of the church. He opened his talk by speaking of the greatness of the Relief Society. He shared that the Relief Society has over five million members, with members in nations across the world. He spoke of the diversity of the members both in age, ethnicity, and their roles in life. A Review of “Way to Be!” By Gordon B Hinckley

One great book that you should get for any youth that you know is “Way to Be! Nine Ways to Be happy and Make Something of Your Life” by Gordon B. Hinckley. This is an excellent book and it is written specifically for youth. Throughout the book President Hinckley is positive and upbeat. He means to inspire the youth to do better. He is not critical, but rather praises and gives suggestions on ways to improve. The book addresses nine areas in which we should focus on improving our lives and ourselves.
