President Faust Passed Away

President James E Faust, the second counselor in the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, passed away this morning from natural causes. He has been serving in the First Presidency since 1995. He has served as a General Authority for thirty-five years. He was with his family when he passed away. President Faust has been loved for the stories that he shared during his talks. These stories were wonderful illustrations of gospel principles. Many of the stories came from his personal life. General Conference: “Spiritual Nutrients”

In his talk “Spiritual Nutrients” President James E Faust speaks about the importance of spiritual nutrients. He opens his talk by sharing his experience of taking rock salt to salt licks for the cattle when he was a boy. He explained that the cows needed to have these nutrients to survive, and so the farmers would provide for them. In his talk “The Restoration of All Things” President James E. Faust speaks of the restoration of the gospel to the church. He speaks of things, which were lost from the time when Christ first established the church.
