Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story

It is so rare for me to find anything critical to say about “Anne of Green Gables.” My adoration for everything Anne and for L.M. Montgomery exceeds all mortal comprehension. I am very sorry to say, though, that when they made “Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story,” they messed up big time. The chronology of the movie is completely wrong. I’m writing a review about these three books together as they all cover a certain segment in the life of Anne Shirley, irrepressible redheaded heroine written about by L.M. Montgomery. In “Anne of Avonlea,” Anne has grown out of most of her awkwardness but still makes shocking mistakes from time to time, causing Marilla to sprout even more gray hair.
