Recipe for Hamantashen

Now that Purim has passed, here is a recipe for the yummy cookies we eat during our celebration. Hamantashen Recipe Preheat over to 350 degrees. This recipe is for 4 dozen or 48 Hamantaschen. 1 cup sugar 1/3 cup oil 1/3 cup shortening 3 eggs 1/2 cup orange juice 4 cups flour 3 tsps. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 egg beaten 2 pounds filling of your choice (jelly, poppy seeds) Take the cream, sugar, oil, and shortening and put into a bowl and then add the eggs and juice and mix is all together. HAPPY PURIM!!!!

Tonight at sundown begins the celebration of Purim. Purim is a holiday which is centered around the character of Queen Esther. The word Purim means lots like a lottery. On the 13th day of the Jewish month of Adar, a lottery was to be drawn by Haman, the Purim Villian and King Ahasuerus’s advisor, as a way to kill all the Jews of Persia.
